Hi and welcome to my webpage. The main purpose of this site is to link to my different projects
and to give a short overview about who I am.
I'm currently doing my PhD at the Institute for Theoretical Physics of the University of Zurich. My field of research are gravitational waves and
how they can verify or put into question Einstein's theory of general relativity.
At least three hours for four evenings per week I practice Wing Chun Kung Fu, Escrima, Qi Gong and Tai Chi at the SKEMA Aarau;
two times per week I teach students in the beginner's training. I have been practicing Kung Fu for about 9 years now and will hopefully be able
to continue this for my whole life. Kung Fu, literally meaning 'to work hard at oneself', not only covers physical training but is
also about developing one's character and personal energy.
During the winter I spend as many days as possible snowboarding and snow shoe hiking on the ski piste and in the backcountry.

In the summer I prefer water sports and spend a lot of time on the rivers with our rubber boat.
I like to learn and to speak foreign languages. Currently I speak German, English, French, Italian and a bit of Spanish.
Languages which I would like to learn in the future are Arabic, Chinese and Swedish.
I had an interest in computers and information science ever since I was a teenager.
In my free time and for my studies I like to write computer programs in Python, Java, C++ and enjoy creating websites with PHP
scripts. Since the last 12 years I have sworn off Windows and strictly use Linux as operating system. Besides, I take a great interest in
computer security.
